Association Health Plans

Association Health Plans (AHPs) offers small employers in Washington state an excellent way to purchase affordable health care coverage. In 1995, the Washington state legislature legalized AHPs allowing groups of employers to join to form association health plans. These “groups of employers” are industry-based such as the farming community, the biotech industry or the automotive trade. Often businesses that get their coverage through an association-sponsored trust plan, will save 10 to 15%. This gives them “big company benefits for small business.”
